First Setup
Overview
Section titled “Overview”After installation, the First Setup wizard creates the initial administrator account, configures optional proxy settings, activates a license, initializes SQL encryption, and records administrator contact details.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- Complete the MSPControl installation procedure.
- Keep the SQL-encryption recovery password in an approved secure location.
- Have the company and administrator contact details available.
- Decide whether to download the Free License or activate a paid license.
Complete the wizard
Section titled “Complete the wizard”- Open the MSPControl Portal. Use the Login to MSPControl shortcut created by the installer. The First Setup wizard should open automatically.
- Create the superuser. Enter the administrator username, set and confirm a strong password, select Create User, and continue.
- Configure a proxy when required. Enable the proxy option, enter its address and credentials, select Apply, and continue. Leave it disabled when the server connects directly.
- Activate licensing. Enter the requested name, email, and company details. Use Download Free for the Free License, or View Pricing before choosing a paid plan. If you already have a license file, upload it from the wizard.
- Create SQL encryption. Enter the recovery password, store it securely, and select Create SQL Encryption. The password cannot be recovered from MSPControl if it is lost.
- Complete the administrator profile. Review the username, contact details, mail format, language, and display preferences, then submit the account information.
- Check for updates. Apply a confirmed update when the wizard requires one, or continue when the installation is current.
- Finish setup. Review the completion message and select Done to open the MSPControl dashboard.
Verify the result
Section titled “Verify the result”- Sign in with the superuser account.
- Open the Licensing section and confirm that a license is active.
- Confirm that the expected license quotas are shown.
- Confirm that the dashboard loads without setup warnings.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- If the wizard does not open, confirm the Portal site and application pool are running in IIS.
- If licensing fails, record the Machine SID and review outbound connectivity or upload the license file manually.
- If encryption initialization fails, review SQL connectivity and the Enterprise Server logs before retrying.
