Install MSPControl on Windows Server
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Use the official Windows Installer to deploy the MSPControl Portal, Enterprise Server, Scheduler, Server, and optional portal components.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”-
Complete the Prerequisites review. For a guided installation, download and run MSPControl Prerequisite Setup.

Download the current installer from the MSPControl Downloads Center.

Decide whether this server will host a basic installation, an advanced installation, or only a managed Server component.

Prepare the SQL Server name, database name, authentication details, and a secure recovery password.

Install ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle 10.0.0 or later and the Visual C++ 2015–2022 x64 runtime.

Ensure that IIS Application Initialization is not installed.
Install MSPControl
Section titled “Install MSPControl”- Start the installer as an administrator. Open the downloaded
MSPControlSetup-3.x.x.exefile and select Next. - Accept the license agreement. Review the agreement, accept its terms, and continue.
- Choose the installation type. Select Basic Setup, Advanced Setup, or Managed Server according to the role of this machine.
- Select components. The available components can include Enterprise Server, Portal, Scheduler Service, Server, End-User Portal, and Legacy Portal.
- Review the prerequisite check. Install or repair missing prerequisites before continuing.
- Configure web and security settings. Define the component endpoints and select the Windows or Active Directory accounts used by the application pools.
- Configure Enterprise Server and SQL Server. Enter the database connection details, test the connection, and set the SQL-encryption recovery password.
- Review and install. Confirm the component summary, select Install, and wait for every action to complete.
- Finish the installation. Save the installation log when needed, then select Finish.
Verify the result
Section titled “Verify the result”- Confirm that the selected MSPControl websites and application pools exist in IIS.
- Confirm that the Scheduler service is installed when selected.
- Review the installation log for failed actions.
- Open the MSPControl Portal from the installer shortcut.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”If installation stops at the prerequisite check, return to Prerequisites. If a component fails to start, review IIS, Windows Event Viewer, the installation log, and SQL connectivity before retrying.
