Policies

Settings > Policies is one screen in the product. It holds every policy MSPControl applies, grouped into families, and it is where platform-wide defaults are set.

Who can open it

Policies is an Administrator screen. A Reseller sees it only when the platform operator has enabled the corresponding policy for resellers — which is why it can be present for you and absent for a partner.

Policy families

General policiesPlatform-wide behaviour: access and branding, communications and signup, subscriptions and billing, scheduling, integrations.

Hosted organization policiesDefaults applied to hosted organizations: Exchange plans and retention, mailbox rules, SharePoint, Windows agent, backup and security compliance.

Alongside those sit the per-service policies, one for each service MSPControl provisions:

• Azure
• Databases
• Hyper-V
• System
• Web

A policy changes behaviour for everyone it applies to

Policies are defaults applied across the platform or across every hosted organization, not settings for one customer. A change here reaches all of them at once, and there is no staged rollout.

Where a single customer needs different behaviour, look for a per-organization override before changing the policy.
