Review and synchronize agentless devices

The Agentless Devices area shows device records synchronized from the organization’s Microsoft cloud environment. These records do not represent Windows endpoints connected through the MSPControl Autopilot agent.

Use this page to:

  • search and sort synchronized device records;
  • review identity, operating-system, ownership, join, management, compliance, registration, and activity data;
  • filter records by last-contact age;
  • include or exclude MDM and mobile records;
  • export the current inventory to Excel;
  • start a fresh organization-level synchronization;
  • open the configured agentless and compliance profiles when your permissions allow it.

You need:

  • access to the customer organization in MSPControl;
  • permission to view Agentless Devices;
  • configured Microsoft 365 organization settings and a tenant ID for synchronization;
  • Microsoft cloud device synchronization enabled for the organization.

If the organization’s application permissions are read-only, MSPControl can still display previously synchronized records, but it hides actions that write to Microsoft cloud services, including deletion, resynchronization, and navigation to agentless profile management.

  1. Open the customer organization.
  2. Go to Devices > Agentless Devices.
  3. Search or sort the table to locate a device.
  4. Select a device name to open its recorded details.
  5. Review the available fields:
    • display name;
    • device ID and object ID;
    • enabled state;
    • operating system and version;
    • ownership and join type;
    • owner and user principal name;
    • management agent and compliance state;
    • registration date and last activity.

The fields shown depend on the values returned by the connected Microsoft service. Missing values appear as not applicable.

The status filter supports these last-contact ranges:

  • all records;
  • no contact for 45 days;
  • no contact for 90 days;
  • no contact for 180 days;
  • no contact for 365 days.

Use Show MDM and Show Mobile to control which records are included in the table. These controls change the current view; they do not change device enrollment.

  1. Select Resync.
  2. Wait for MSPControl to create and run the one-time Azure managed-device synchronization task.
  3. Keep the page open until MSPControl reports that the task completed.
  4. Review the refreshed table and confirm that expected device records appear.

The task stops without synchronizing when the organization has no Microsoft 365 settings, no tenant ID, device synchronization is disabled, or the required customer relationship is unavailable. Review the scheduled-task history when a resynchronization completes without the expected records.

Select Export to Excel to download UnmanagedDevices_<organization-id>.xlsx. The export follows the active table filter and includes the recorded device identity, operating-system, ownership, join, user, and activity fields.

Users with the required permission can select one or more records and choose Delete. The current implementation sends a delete request to the connected Microsoft service and then removes the matching local record.

After a synchronization or deletion:

  1. Refresh the table.
  2. Reapply the intended status, MDM, and mobile filters.
  3. Confirm the expected record count and last-activity values.
  4. If needed, export the filtered inventory and compare it with the previous report.
  • Use Devices for Windows endpoints connected through the MSPControl agent.
  • Use Device Apps to review the software inventory collected from connected devices and the Intune application records available to the organization.
  • Use Scheduled Tasks to review synchronization history.
